Joykrit Mitra grew up in Kolkata, India, went to college and graduate school in America, had a short career as a science writer, then worked as an English teacher in Japan and Colombia. Joykrit currently teaches English freelance to the impoverished in Kolkata. He has schizoaffective disorder which makes it impossible to hold down a full-time job.
